Oktoberfest Parade

Oktoberfest kicked off this weekend and as they do every year (and have for over 50 years), there is a big costume and rifleman parade on the first Sunday.  Over 8,000 participants, and 2 hours long!
Here we are waiting. We watched from right near the start of the parade on Maximilianstrasse by the big memorial statue and thankfully, the crowds weren't too crazy... and yes, both girls in the picture below ARE going for their noses. :)

(Doesn't the girl below look EXCITED  to be in the parade?!)

Val LOVED all of the horses.  In fact, the animals were the hit for all the girls, from the horses, to the hunting dogs, and even hunting birds!

Can't you just hear the girls saying, "Mom! Mom! It's a princess!!"

Check out the guy in mustard yellow.  A moby wrap? Seriously?!  Baby's first parade! :)
 Kate said, "Mom! ANOTHER princess!"

Somewhere around the halfway mark, this silly joker guy came around, marking up the kids' noses!  Even ours got it! (Joker is in the picture below Val & Kate.)

The big girls positively swooned over these frilly dresses...

What a great parade!  Hope you enjoyed the a few snipits of it!
