The End of Summer

Two events have marked the end of Summer in London... well, three. The third is just so depressing though - its rain. Yes, rain. I'm actually not sure we really had a summer here, considering how dreadful the weather has been, but Micah and I have taken advantage of every sunny (or at least cloudy-but-not-raining) moment to be outside, generally in Greenwich Park.
So, the two events: The first was our last picnic in the park! We went down to Greenwich Market and bought yummy French cheeses and olives, Italian Salami, homemade humus and fresh cut veggies. Then we hiked to the top of a hill in the park, spread out our "dinner" and enjoyed it with a wonderful view!
The second event was taking in a play at Shakespeare's Globe! This round, roof-less theatre is an exact replica (except for the lights added so that they could hold shows at night!) of the original which burned in a fire long ago. We saw the comedy, The Merry Wives of Windsor (notice the program Micah bought me) and laughed at (what we hope was) all the right places! It took us both a good 20 minutes or so to get accustomed to the language, and even then, we couldn't catch everything, but certainly enough to enjoy it thoroughly!
So, that's it. The end of our summer as we know it. School starts tomorrow and our count-down has begun. Just 14 weeks till we leave London.
