Wonderful Werffeli's!

The year was 2003, the month - September. I was beginning my first year as a full-time teacher and in walks my first student, on the first day of school. Julianna Werffeli was just 7 years old at the time... one year later, I taught 5th grade and her older brother, Ryan, was in my class. Both were (and still are!) clever students, athletic team players, kind and caring individuals.
What a joy it is, as their former teacher, to see them a few years later, growing into mature young adults! The Werffeli family came to London to spend a few days on holiday before heading out around the rest of the British Isles. It was fantastic to spend two days with them!
The first day we spent in the city, wandering around to a couple of museums and art galleries and enjoying a fantastic lunch together. The next day, they ventured out to Greenwich, where we explored the park, the Royal Observatory, played Frisbee and had a picnic, then had Micah join us for a proper pub dinner. It was a joy not only to reconnect with this family again, but also to see a brilliant example of a family loving, supporting, encouraging, and enjoying one another! Thanks, Werffeli's, for letting me spend a couple of days with you!
