Holiday to the Northwest United States

Micah and I just got back from a wonderful visit with family and friends in both Washington and Oregon over the last week and a half! It had been almost 10 months since we'd last been in the Northwest and we were excited to be there!
We gathered both sides of our family together and met at a big house on the Oregon Coast in Lincoln City.
With beautiful views of the sandy beaches and wild waves and only 3/4 mile away from beach access, we enjoyed visiting with family! Unfortunately the spring weather didn't cooperate very well. The sun and rain battled it out the whole weekend with the rain winning out most of the time, but we took advantage of every clear moment anyway!

Sadiya and Kai went with me on the first beach walk of the trip! When the wind and rain was too much to handle, there was plenty to do inside... games, visiting, eating...

Decorating cakes to celebrate all of the family birthdays in March and April!

Micah took a few risks with the waves and got a bit wet! At low tide the moss and algea can be seen in vivid colours and course textures. It was beautiful!
My mom and dad brought Samson over for a visit. It was a JOY to see him and he certainly loved playing on the beach with us!

Me with some of my family (left to right: Kim, Dad, Becky, Mom, Trevor, and Lexi is down in front).

While in Oregon, we stopped (at every opportunity!) to get a Dutch Bros - my favourite coffee. Mmmmmm!! Cheers to my first one of the trip and to many more in the future! The weekend seemed to fly by and we will always wish there was more time to spend with our families. However, we enjoyed the evening out with everyone on Saturday as we went to Mo's for their famous clam chowder!
Nieces and Nephews: Gabby, Robert, Sadiya
More nephews: Alex and Martay

The whole gang!
I'll have lots more pictures from our trip coming soon... but first we need to get some rest and get ready for work tomorrow!! We love you all and thanks for making this such a wonderful, memorable trip for us!

Look how happy you guys look. I think you definitely belong in the Northwest. Maybe when you're home for good and not running around visiting all the necessary people, we can sit down for a nice dinner and some catching up. Love you guys,
Jill
