Hamstead Heath and other parts of London...

Micah and I had heard about this great park - Hamstead Heath - which boasts of the highest point in London with great views of the city. We decided to check it out...

Doorway to the Heath House - an OLD house at the entrance to the heath. (By the way, heath is just another word
We expected to find a grassy area with loads of people out for picnics on this beautiful, sunny day, but instead, we found rough trails through the woods! If we had come prepared for a a trail run or long walk in the woods, this would have been the perfect place to do it, but unfortunately, we were more prepared for a city-walk!
So, we headed back to the narrow streets of Hamstead and enjoyed the unique houses. This one below is the Admiral's House... not sure WHICH admiral, but it certainly was unique. :)
We browsed the shops downtown, and once again, I was awed by the beautiful flowers...
Some of the doorways were build for people MUCH smaller than Micah and I... notice how the one below only goes up to his shoulder!

We enjoyed a frappe at a coffee shop called Cafe Nerro, which claims to be the best Italian coffee. I must admit, it is pretty good - even more the atmosphere was perfect because they'd opened up the entire front of the shop, so we sat with the sun and a slight breeze coming in... perfect.
We continued "down" into the city and walked through Regent Park (we've been here before - remember the zoo? That's IN Regent Park). We were at the very north end of the park, in an area we hadn't explored before, and ended up finding the great sights of the city that we'd been looking for...
It seems that much of London also discovered this sight because the park was packed with people out enjoying the sun!
Regent Park also has a section called the "English Gardens" and that is where my flower pictures from the "Happy Easter" post came from. Here is a fountain in the same area.

Once again, we miss and love you all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we are looking forward to our trip back to the northwest in June!

Looks like you & Micah had yet another great adventure in your "new world"! Maybe that "short" door was really a "tall" doggie door! Happy Easter, love
